More than 1,200 guests joined us on Saturday, Oct. 4, for Concordia at Cabot’s annual Oktoberfest, enjoying a beautiful fall evening filled with food, fellowship and fun.
A crisp, sunny day set the stage for one of Concordia’s most beloved traditions: a celebration of community, faith and gratitude. Guests arriving on campus were greeted with the aroma of homemade baked goods from John Huss Evangelical Lutheran Church and ALIVE! Community Church. The Concordia Visiting Nurses team was also in the lobby offering flu shots to help attendees stay healthy this season.
Inside, the Mikey Dee Polka Band kept the crowd entertained while guests enjoyed a hearty, German-inspired menu prepared by Concordia’s culinary staff. Favorites included pork roast, kielbasa and sauerkraut, bratwurst, sauerbraten, spaetzle and potato pancakes, along with Samuel Adams Octoberfest.
Outside, families made lasting memories at the Kids Fest on the Concordia ball field, which featured pony rides, a bounce house, pumpkin decorating, balloon art, face stenciling and hayrides. Guests also took tours of the Concordia Haven Retirement Apartments, learning more about our residents’ worry-free lifestyle.
As the sun set, all eyes turned to the sky for a spectacular Pyrotecnico fireworks show, a fitting finale to an evening celebrating Concordia’s mission and history.
A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who helped make the night a success, from our volunteers and staff to our generous fireworks sponsors: Gordon Food Service, Jan-Dee Janitorial Supplies, McCutcheon Enterprises, Inc., Monteverde’s, Inc. and TriMark SS Kemp.
Many thanks to all who joined us in celebrating another wonderful Oktoberfest. Until next year!
